Chapter 136

4 min read

When on earth will this be over?

I’ve been listening to Asilla’s silly comments for an hour, and I feel like I’m going to go crazy at this rate.

Besides that…

“The room was dark, but when I hung up the portrait of the lady, it lit up!”

“Your face is so full, it’s beautiful~”

He kept making fresh and witty remarks.

‘If it was Rosetta, and not me, she would have been a good match with Asilla.’

Asilla was crazy about Rosetta and Rosetta was crazy about his work. They would have been fantastic partners.

But I wasn’t crazy about jewels like Rosetta, and I couldn’t keep up with Asilla’s craziness.

“By the way, My Lady, did you get the ring?”

What are you going to do again this time? When I blocked her ears warily, he smiled sadly, saying it wasn’t like that this time.

“His Highness had entrusted me with its workmanship, but did you not receive it?”

“Oh, I got it, but I never thought you had made it.”

The ring was completely the opposite of Asilla’s usual style that I’d seen so far, so I didn’t think he had made it at all.

“You didn’t wear it because you didn’t like it.”

“No, I liked that one the most.”

But his reaction was strange. I thought Asilla would be happy but he just frowned and moved his hands roughly.

“It’s a compliment. Don’t you like it?”

“… It wasn’t made by me. It was designed by His Highness, the Crown Prince.”

“His Highness designed it himself?”

“Yes, I’ve only done a little detail, but it is true that Your Highness designed it.”

God! I raised my hand to cover my gaping mouth.

‘This is a little romantic.’

To tell the truth, I was just excited.

Honestly, who wouldn’t like it? A man designing a ring for the woman he loves; it was every woman’s dream.

I couldn’t stop the corners of my mouth from rising.

‘He doesn’t look like the type, but he’s quite romantic.’

He even kept sending a letter every day after the confession. Sihael, who promised to tell me he liked me every once a day, really confessed to me every day.

He would use a great messenger called Leonard.

[To Rosetta,

Hello, Rosetta.

Today, I put a rose that resembles you in my office. I miss you so much but I can’t see you, so I’m raising this guy thinking it’s you.

I’m going to give it a name. What name would you like?]

The letter that started with his daily stories always ended with the same words.

[Leonard is glaring at me, so I’ll cut it short.

I like you today. I like you a lot.

With love, Sihael.]

Letters with neat handwriting resembling him and full of sweet words that made my mouth tingle came to me every single day. At such times, I rocked back and forth like a paper boat thrown into the sea. Even though I wanted to accept his heart, I was not sure and kept taking a step back.

Letters pile up in my desk drawer, but I never replied.

Was he disappointed, or did he accept it calmly, saying that he knew this would be how it’ll be?”

I don’t think it’s bad to be restless.

‘Anyway, Sihael couldn’t have ordered just one ring.’

When I remembered Sihael’s couple ring, I asked Asila just in case.

“Asila, is that a couple ring?”

“Yes, it’s a pair.”

Sihael was really determined. In a way, it was a well-thought-out plan that gave me goosebumps, but I strangely didn’t hate it. Rather than hating it, I couldn’t help but feel butterflies in my stomach at his sweet actions.

“So you like His Highness’ babies more than my babies…”

Seeing the corner of my mouth slightly raised in a smile, Asilla murmured gloomily. His face, which was gloomy as if covered by a dark cloud, looked at me and bowed his head.

I unintentionally hurt his pride, so I waved my hand.

“No, I like Asilla’s work the most.”

I desperately tried to appease him, but unfortunately, my voice could not reach him.

“Next time, I will set my soul on fire to make the babies you’d like.”

“It’s enough now-”

“Just trust me! I will make the most beautiful babies in the world!  They’re going to be so perfect that you wouldn’t spare a glance at His Highness’s babies!”

Holding onto his damaged pride, Asilla declared and looked at me with his blazing eyes. His hands flew fast over the sketchbook.

“Let’s go, babies!”

I swallowed the tears in my heart when I saw his eyes glistening with madness beyond passion.

‘Someone help me…’
