Chapter 135

5 min read

Asilla, who cried out solemnly, ran to the desk and picked up a pen. Then he looked back at me as if he remembered something.

“And please, My Lady, speak at ease. If you use honorifics, I’ll get so nervous that my heart will explode.”

“Then, I’ll speak with you informally.”

“Thank you!”

It’s nothing to be thankful for. I looked at the flamboyantly moving hand with a little tired eyes.

‘That’s too much.’

I could not understand the overly enthusiastic attitude of Asilla. Seeing his eyes twinkling while calling me a goddess, I could see he liked me too much.

Asila and I met for the first time today. It was a completely new relationship, which aged less than five minutes after we met.I’ve never met him before, but Asilla treated me like he’s known me for five years.

“Well, Asilla.”

“What?”

Asilla, whose hands moved as if flying, raised his head at my call. The brown eyes glistened under the thick glasses. Looking at it, I felt like there was something fishy about Asilla.

“Why did you suddenly sign a contract when you refused my request?”

Until I met Asilla, I thought he fell for the Baron’s tenacity, but now I don’t think so. When I asked him the first proper question after stepping into his office, Asilla who put down his pen, strode over and grabbed her hand tightly.

“The moment I saw your portrait, I realized that my muse had finally appeared!”

His eyes gleamed with ecstasy.

Oh, now I understand.

Muse: the goddess of learning and art in mythology.

A source of inspiration he’d probably waited his whole life for.

I was a goddess to Asilla.

“I’ve been waiting for thirty years! Thirty years! Do you know how long I’ve been looking for you?”

Asilla looked at me with an overwhelmed face, letting out the emotion he felt the moment he saw my portrait.

When I saw the occasional glimpse of madness in his joy filled eyes, I slipped my hand away.

‘This is a little scary.’

My eyes widened in a different sense than when Sihael got drunk on my blood.

“If you had shown me your portrait from the beginning, I could have signed the contract sooner.”

‘I was wondering how I got the deal. Did the Baron sell me out?’

He coughed loudly when I sharply glared at the baron.

“Didn’t I tell you? It’s all thanks to you.”

“I didn’t know it meant this.”

No wonder he said it was all thanks to me. It was really all thanks to me. I remembered the terms that Asila offered.

“Did you put the terms for me to supervise all the work because you wanted me to be your muse?”

“Yes, I wanted to see you and get inspiration from your real life.”

Yeah, I was wondering why he put me in charge when I didn’t know anything. When I glared again at the Baron who had hidden all this knowingly, he looked over the window innocently.

“If you meet me once a month and wear my work, I can even sign a lifetime contract with Katzels.”

That much? Baron was the first to respond to the jaw-dropping proposal.

The Baron, who had been earlier avoiding my eyes, looked straight at me. His eyes glowed.

“You’ll stay in the capital, won’t you, My Lady?”

Wow, I didn’t expect the Baron to have eyes like this. I was surprised by the eager eyes of the Baron; I had never seen this before.

‘You’re really going back to the Duchy, handing this all over to me?’

Even though I was exasperated by Baron’s lie, I thought it was not bad because that meant he’d show his face only once a month.

‘Well, I can’t go anywhere because of Sihael anyway.’

When I nodded my head gently, happiness gleamed in both pairs of eyes.

The baron finally got a life contract from Asilla. The baron who got the seal on the spot was also quite crazy, but the real definition of crazy was Asilla.

He looked excited at the thought of seeing me forever, even though he was brought into the firm grip of the Katzels.  I was a little scared of Asilla. He was a case of real madness.

“My lady, try this one too.”

When the baron saw me adorned with jewels from head to toe, being led by Asilla, the baron rubbed his chin, saying an, “Ohh.”

“You’re a walking jewelry store.”

It wasn’t a joke, I really thought I could open a shop with the jewelry that was decorated on my body.

“Help me…”

I asked for help from the baron, who only watched us leisurely, but he pushed me to Asilla, telling me to work harder.

‘Yeah, he’s such a person.’

I knew that he was a person who could do anything for Katzel family, but I never thought he would sell me, a Katzel without any hesitation.

I pointed my hand at the baron and gestured that I’d decapitate him and then clenched my fist.

The baron, now realizing the situation he was in, nervously gulped.  As if the warning had been properly received, the baron finally stopped Asilla.

“That’s enough for now.”

“Oh one last thing.”

I let out a long sigh as Asilla pleaded while putting on the emerald earrings on me. I threw off all my jewelry and sat down on the sofa.

I was finally free at last. Asilla drew my picture, moving his hands incessantly.  Then he raised his head, looked at me and let out a sigh.

“I feel there’s a wall between us, my lady.”

“Stop…”

Anticipating what would come next, I closed my eyes.

“Perfect.”
