Chapter 134

4 min read

“My Lady, there are customers queuing up at the jewelry store. The reservation list is a bit long.”

As soon as the Baron saw me, he announced the good news. The Baron’s face was beaming from the number of people who visited the jewelry store after His Majesty’s birthday banquet.

“It’s worth all the hard work.”

Even though I went through so many troubles, it was satisfying to see how my extensive promotions came to effect. As word of mouth would slowly spread, all fashion-conscious aristocrats would flock to the Katzel Jewelry Store.

The jewelries were works made by the one and only Asilla. They were a rare luxury that couldn’t be obtained unless here, so there is only one thing left to do in the future.

‘All I have to do is wait for my safe to fill.’

Whoo-hoo!

The Baron, who was looking at me with satisfaction, asked with a sly smile.

“Is Eugene doing well?”

“Yes, he’s pretty much a wizard now.”

It’s a pity, Eugene couldn’t work in the workshop. It wasn’t because he lacked skills, but because he was too talented and precious to be tied up in a workshop.

Nanabi snatched away Eugene, who was sucking up all the knowledge like a sponge. He asked me to assign him to her because he desperately wanted to learn from her,  so I agreed.

‘Eugene seems to like learning from Nanabi more than work, and I don’t want to force him to do it.’

And I signed a safe contract with a wizard introduced by Nanabi, so there were no setbacks with the work.

At last the carriage stopped. The man who welcomed us out of the carriage introduced himself as Phil.

“First, I will guide you to Asilla.”

We followed Phil’s lead to the office.

Knock, knock.

“Asilla, we have a visitor.”

Suddenly, I opened my mouth in amazement at Phil’s action of opening the door before hearing a response from the other side. The Baron did not seem to be very surprised, as if he had seen this before.

“You can go in.”

When I hesitated, wondering if I could really go in like this, Phil gestured to enter quickly. I went into the room when he urged me to enter, but I was afraid that I’d get cursed as an impolite aristocrat.

When I stepped in carefully, I saw a person who had his head down on the desk and was busy moving his hands.

‘Is he who I think he is?”’

Asilla was different from the image I had drawn in my head. Maybe it was because I had been rejected so many times, that I thought of him as an arrogant and strict person.

But the Asilla in front of me had his hair tied up, wore thick glasses, and had dark black circles under his eyes.

He was just like one of the common office workers.

“Asilla.”

“What?”

“Rosetta Katzel is here.”

At that moment, Asilla, who had never given a glance, sprang up like a spring. The chair fell down with a loud noise.

“… A goddess!”

Asila, who arrived in front of me in the blink of an eye, fell to his knees.

What’s wrong with you? Who are you calling a goddess?

Unable to hide my embarrassment, I looked back at Phil, and he opened his mouth with a calm face.

“You can just leave him alone.”

At that moment, I remembered what the Baron had said before getting out of the carriage.

“Young Lady, don’t be too surprised when you see Asilla.”

“Is he a weirdo?”

“Not really, but you’ll see yourself.”

What do you mean ‘not a weirdo’? He was indeed a weirdo.

Why do only weird people flock around me? As soon as I took a step back, Asilla, jumped up and responded,

“It’s an honor to meet you. I am Asilla, the owner of Asilla’s workshop.”

“I am Rosetta Katzel… What are you doing?!”

As if he couldn’t see my flustered self, he kept spinning me with sounds like “Oh, wow, oh!”

Asilla, who finally stopped, looked persistently at my neck and around my ears.

“…What’s wrong with you?”

Asilla shook his head despondently.

“Why, my babies aren’t…?”

“Babies?”

Is he calling his work ‘babies’? As far as all the weirdos around me were concerned, I didn’t know.

“Ugh! I guess they weren’t good enough to fully capture the beauty of the goddess.”

Asilla, who didn’t say anything but thought as he pleased, was frustrated. I grabbed him by the shoulder just before he dug his head in sadness.

“It’s not like that. I left them back home because they were too fancy to wear for everyday use.”

“That… I didn’t think of it. Then I’ll make you babies that you can use in your daily life!”
