Uncle (1)
The cell phone rang for no more than four seconds in the confined space of the car before the bodyguard immediately picked it up.
“Hello.”
“Haven’t picked him up yet… No, no, I’ve already seen the person… He’s busy. Yes, it’s inconvenient to interrupt. Yes.”
This side respectfully muttered, accompanied by an anxious inquiry.
Over there, Xi Chengyun had just let go of Bai Qi’s waist.
The sun had just sunk into the horizon at this time, and there was still a wide afterglow hanging in the sky. Bai Qi squinted, feeling as if Xi-laoshi’s back was draped in the sunset.
He whispered, “This one cent is really worth it.”
Xi Chengyun’s other hand was still resting on the back of Bai Qi’s neck, and he rubbed the patch of skin with a force that was not too light or heavy, even caressing a bit of the end of Bai Qi’s hair.
He laughed and answered, “Mm. Qi Qi gives too much, so I must, of course, give a higher level of service.”
A thought instinctively popped into Bai Qi’s head–
What kind of service will it be at one and a half cents?
What about three cents?
The kind of kiss that makes you lose your breath?
Only then did Xi Chengyun’s gaze cross over Bai Qi’s shoulder, and he looked toward the blue car nearby.
Bai Qi quickly noticed his movements.
“Huh?” Bai Qi followed and craned his head.
The person in that car seemed to be looking at them and immediately rolled down the window, poking out a tanned, bare head.
He appeared fierce-looking.
Bai Qi took half a step back. “… A stalker? Or a local gangster?”
Bai Qi had already planned his escape route in just a few seconds. “Let’s split up and run?”
Xi Chengyun pressed his shoulders, his voice carrying a slight smile. “Qi Qi, we don’t need to run.”
Bai Qi immediately reacted. “You know him?”
Xi Chengyun nodded.
Bai Qi whispered, “Uncle’s people?”
Xi Chengyun’s smile intensified as he responded, “Mm.”
He didn’t know why, but he thought it was cute for Bai Qi to call out “uncle” in a lovable and small voice.
The driver and bodyguard in the car examined the situation for a while before opening the door and walking over. “Mr. Little Xi, do you want to… get in the car now?”
Xi Chengyun looked at Bai Qi. “Do you want to rest for another day?”
Bai Qi: “No need!”
It’s just a meeting with the guardians, right?
He had already landed, so pushing the meeting for another day would be impolite.
Xi Chengyun then nodded.
The two people on the other side of the road were relieved upon seeing this. One got into the main driver’s seat, while the other was responsible for opening the car door and helping to load up the luggage.
The car quickly drove back onto the main street.
The evening breeze blew through the windows, carrying a little flowery scent.
The car turned a corner.
Bai Qi suddenly spoke out, “Wait.”
The driver slammed his foot on the brake and looked back at him in confusion.
Bai Qi: “Buying something.”
The driver looked at Xi Chengyun.
Xi Chengyun: “Listen to him.”
The bodyguard immediately spoke out, “Buy what? Shall I do it?”
Xi Chengyun opened the car door. “No, I’ll accompany him.”
The bodyguard had no choice but to sit obediently.
Bai Qi got out of the car and walked into the flower store on the side of the road, fluently talking to the other party before turning around, bowing slightly, and carefully selecting.
Xi Chengyun stood by the side, bending down slightly to help him select.
As the wind blew, the flowers swayed.
The driver sat in his seat, looking at this scene, and murmured, “It’s really unimaginable that Mr. Little Xi would have such a gentle side one day…”
The bodyguard interjected, “But after he returned to China, I saw many Chinese people praising him for being a gentleman with a soft side.”
The driver retorted, “Do you really think so? Didn’t you feel as horrified the last time you watched his red carpet video?”
The bodyguard was silent for half a second. “Right. So there’s the difference between pretending and being real.”
Bai Qi didn’t take too long. He quickly chose a large bouquet and held them in his arms as he walked back.
The bodyguard whispered, “He’s good-looking.”
A large handful of pink, light yellow, multi-colored trimmed flowers served as a foil to him.
“Don’t let Mr. Little Xi hear you,” The driver said as he unlocked the car door.
After Bai Qi and Xi Chengyun returned to the car, the car seemed to return to that silent atmosphere briefly.
This was the norm for the driver and the others.
However, such normality didn’t last long today.
Bai Qi began to chat with Xi Chengyun in a low voice.
He would point to every street he passed by outside and ask, “Did Xi-laoshi used to walk through here?”
He would point to each store. “Is the food here good? What did they sell there?”
Xi Chengyun would answer them all.
How interesting.
The bodyguard said to himself.
This Mr. Bai is a very interesting person.
The words that came out of his mouth were meaningless inquiries, but he could say so much for so long and still managed to get Mr. Little Xi to answer them all patiently.
The car drove for an unknown amount of time, and when it was almost time to arrive at its destination, Bai Qi smiled and said, “I know Xi-laoshi’s skill now.”
“Huh?”
Bai Qi: “Which road Xi-laoshi used to walk, which store he visited, and where he would stop when it rained… I also compiled a small section of Xi-laoshi’s life trajectory.”
Xi Chengyun paused, then smiled.
It was no longer through cold and false encyclopedia entries.
He liked Bai Qi to learn about him.
The bodyguard and driver in the front seat could understand Chinese.
The bodyguard couldn’t help but froze when he heard this.
…… It’s me who is too naive.
How could I have thought that what Mr. Bai said was all nonsense? Quite the contrary, it all makes too much sense!
No wonder he was able to conquer Mr. Little Xi! No wonder! I’m still a bachelor to this day!
Bai Qi didn’t know that one more person wanted to ask him to open a class and give lessons.
The car suddenly stopped, and he heard the driver’s voice, “We have arrived.”
Bai Qi turned his head toward the outside again.
Next to it was a sparkling lake, and next to the lake sat a Chinese-style garden. It starkly contrasted the European-style castles and villas in the distance.
Since he had already known that Xi Chengyun’s grandfather’s family was wealthy, Bai Qi wasn’t too surprised.
Holding a large bouquet, he followed Xi Chengyun as he struggled to get out of the car, not forgetting to turn around and say, “Xi-laoshi, don’t forget the suitcase.”
Xi Chengyun responded, knowing that he must have stuffed a gift inside.
