Chapter 61.2

4 min read

‘I thought he would just study at home because he was a scholar, but does he work out regularly too?’

A smile spread on his lips as he looked at me tilting my head in an indescribable curiosity.

“You seem to find the Magic Tower fascinating. You can look around comfortably.”

I wanted to see Clive’s firm body more than the Magic Tower, but…

I kept my mouth shut for fear that someone as innocent as him would run away in fear.

Clive entered the Magic Tower’s drawing room, looked back at me and asked, “Would you like some tea?”

Although he was the eldest son of Count Norton, who was known to be quite wealthy, and was the sole owner of the only magic tower in the empire, he didn’t seem to have a maid. I stared at the kettle in his hand and nodded at him.

“Black tea, please. With psilonic.”

At my words, his dark eyes widened and then his eyebrows lowered.

“Do you like psilonic tea?”

“Not really, but the only place where you grow tea without slavery is Psilon.”

“…You know that.”

Clive opened his mouth as if he didn’t expect my answer. Clive Norton was the only character in the game to take the lead in protecting the beast people and caring for the underprivileged. He valued goodness so much that he came to like the main character because of her kind heart.

“I’ve heard you have dismissed a large number of beast men slaves a while ago.”

I mention an article I read recently to express my interest in Clive’s good deeds. But then his face darkened greatly.

“I hear that the Marquis of Abina was very angry.”

“Well, the Marquis was doing a lot of business using the labor of beast men slaves.”

“I’m sorry about that.”

He seemed to think that I, being Marquis Abina’s daughter, was blaming him. I shrugged my shoulders as I looked at him with my head down.

“No. I think you did a good job.”

“…What?”

“It would be unfair for their mother country to be subjugated into a colony, but it’s a terrible violation of their rights to be forced to work.”

There were some things I mentioned to gain Clive’s favor, but in reality, my opinion was the same. The only business that the Marquis of Abina dabbled with was the use of the weak, such as children, women, and beast men slaves.

‘When will that pig die?’

I frowned as I recalled his thick chin jutting out from his collars.

“The Young Lady is the first person to say that other than the saint.”

Clive’s eyes glistened at my words and I smiled and said, “Then, please say that I am unique among the imperialists. Don’t talk about the saint for nothing.”

When I showed aversion to Jian’s story, Clive narrowed his eyebrows as if in trouble.

“…I hear you had a quarrel with the saint.”

“Did Jian say that? She fought with me.”

“I believe she was depressed that Young Lady Abina didn’t seem to like her.”

I was amazed by Clive’s words and opened my mouth.

“Lord of the Magic Tower.”

“You may call me Clive.”

“Yes, Clive, it is impossible for a man to be loved by everyone. Some people hate me no matter what I do.”

I hated Jian. Even though she didn’t do anything in particular, I just don’t like her. Jian told Ares that I was Abina’s daughter, and he changed, and then she even sent me flying to the Sharma Kingdom. Why should I like such a thoughtless person?

“I hope Jian realizes that simple fact soon.”

As I expressed my earnest desire that she wouldn’t touch me as much as possible, Clive’s eyes changed strangely. Dark blue pebble-like eyes slowly scanned my face.

“…Why do you look at me like that?”

I curl my toes because I felt naked in front of him.

“I think you’re different from what I think.”

Clive’s attitude was still polite and undisturbed, but I was ashamed and dropped my gaze down.

“Can I have this?”

To break the ice, I reached for the glass that Clive had put down. it wasn’t for me, but I wanted to drink something cool because I was thirsty.

“Young Lady! Hold on!”

Gulping.

His face was distorted as he looked at me, who swallowed the drink before he could even stop me.

‘What is this drink? Was it really expensive for him to make a face like that?’

Each of us was with status, so it wasn’t shameful that we had a drink.

I frowned along Clive’s stiff face and closed my mouth with both hands.

“…Haha!”
