Recount of a Cannon Fodder’s Counterattack (11)

After doing the cosplay together, Jin Jingyao started inviting Wang Lizhi out for meals a lot, and would even go visit him at work.

This kind of care made Wang Lizhi think that Jin Jingyao was interested in him, making him very happy.

Comparing him to Lu Shijin, Lu Shijin’s expressionless face made Wang Lizhi more and more annoyed. He really wanted to get rid of him.

Thankfully, the current novel was close to finishing. Wang Lizhi decided to wait until the novel finished, when Lu Shijin lost all value, before breaking up with Lu Shijin. It would probably just require a large sum of money to bribe him to keep quiet anyways.

Wang Lizhi was confident that Lu Shijin wouldn’t make any moves. After all, Lu Shijin had been writing for so long without earning any money, he needed the business Wang Lizhi provided.

Lu Shijin was obviously aware of Wang Lizhi’s intentions, and why Jin Jingyao was paying so much attention to Wang Lizhi.

Pushing someone who was already down even lower didn’t make much of a difference.

But if that person was standing at the top of the world, and then fell down, the drop would be more painful than death.

Lu Shijin used two weeks to finish Jin Jingyao’s commission. After sending it, Jin Jingyao only replied with “Not bad” and nothing else.

After a day, Jin Jingyao and Wang Lizhi’s cosplay was posted and roused discussion amongst Wang Lizhi’s book fans and Jin Jingyao’s fans.

Most of the comments were praising how Jin Jingyao perfectly portrayed Gu Chaoxing’s two sides, but some of them were praising their CP.

Although the pictures posted were edited, Wang Lizhi still seemed very dull and unimportant when placed next to Jin Jingyao.

Lu Shijin suspected that the comments saying how they seemed like a CP were water army comments bought by Wang Lizhi, wanting to make himself seem as good as Jin Jingyao.

But even if Wang Lizhi was a bright pearl, Jin Jingyao was the sun in the sky. No matter how bright a pearl was, how could it compare to the sun?

Not even five minutes after he posted the pictures, Wang Lizhi reposted it and even mentioned Jin Jingyao in the post, wanting to interact with him. However, Jin Jingyao only responded politely, distancing himself.

Surprisingly, Jin Jingyao then shared the story he commissioned from Lu Shijin.

Since it was smut, he couldn’t post the entire thing. Jin Jingyao picked out a couple safe scenes and mentioned Jin Shilu’s account as the author. This instantly made Lu Shijin’s alt account very popular.

Plus, fanfiction was much more interesting than cosplay photos.

So all the fans instantly focused on the fanfic. No one even remembered there was cosplay. They were busy using the grapevine to find Jin Shilu’s works.

Jin Jingyao’s actions this time made Wang Lizhi very angry. However, he couldn’t vent his anger at Jin Jingyao, so he could only insult this unknown author “Jin Shilu”.

“Who knows where this random writer came from?” Wang Lizhi complained as he scrolled through Weibo, “Where did Jin Jingyao find this kind of vulgar smut writer?”

Lu Shijin watched Wang Lizhi act so anxious and sneered inside. Sorry, that’s me, your father.

Wang Lizhi continued complaining, “Why would Jin Jingyao commission him? Are his eyes okay? I can also write, so why isn’t he looking for me?”

Lu Shijin ignored his complaints and went into his room to leave Wang Lizhi to complain to himself.

He opened his laptop and logged onto the website. He found that his fanfic had several more hundred comments, and the number of followers also increased drastically. It was all due to Jin Jingyao.

He also got a lot of private messages. Knowing that he accepted commissions, many of them were asking if he could accept theirs.

A few of them caught Lu Shijin’s attention.

One was a male actor who underwent professional training and was first in his major back in school.

But after graduation, he witnessed all of his classmates get popular, while he had acted for almost ten years without popularity.

During these years, he never once acted anything more important than a second male lead.

He said in the private message that he wanted to be the male lead for once and launch into popularity.

But he knew that he was getting old, and with all the new people getting into the entertainment industry, his chances of getting popular were very low.

So he wanted Lu Shijin to write a story where he was the male lead and got popular. That way, it could count as him fulfilling his dream.

Another person was a merchant.

He said that he had been in business for many years and worked hard to earn a family fortune. He had a gentle and virtuous wife and two lovely children.

He also didn’t forget to give back to society. He was a well-known person who donated to charities and helped with public welfare in his area.

This was originally a life full of happiness, but because he trusted in the wrong people, his business was destroyed and he owed many of his workers money.

To prevent his family from facing the backlash, he could only divorce his wife and separate from his beloved children, going into another province to find work.

He never forgot about all the people he owed money to either. He used all his excess money to pay them back.

However, he owed them too much. He didn’t know how long he would have to do this for, or how much longer he could hold on.

He didn’t understand why someone like him, a person who had always done good, didn’t receive good karma. He wanted Lu Shijin to write him a story where he could have a happy ending.

At the end of the message, the businessman carefully asked for the price. If it was too expensive, then he might not be able to afford it. In which case, he apologized for disturbing the author. His tone was very pitiful.

The last person was an ordinary housewife.

She said that she used to be a senior white-collar worker who delayed dating to further her career. In the end, she became an old lady that no one wanted and her family urged her to get married.

Eventually, she met someone from a blind date and they wedded after getting to know each other a bit.

Hasty marriage brings endless troubles and torment.
