Recount of a Cannon Fodder’s Counterattack (9)
Who else would Jin Jingyao butter up if not him? Wang Lizhi was just reading too much into it.
“Lu-ge, don’t misunderstand, I’m not suspecting you, I’m just . . .” Wang Lizhi scooted closer to Lu Shijin, softening his voice, “I’m just scared that Jin Jingyao has something for you. I care about you too much, I’m always afraid that you’d be stolen from me, which is why . . .”
“Okay, enough.” Lu Shijin was scared that he would throw up from disgust if he continued listening, “I feel a bit stifled here, I’m gonna go out for some air.”
Lu Shijin left the room and went into a stairwell. He took out the card. It was from the hotel they were currently in, the room being on the 23rd floor.
Lu Shijin took an elevator to the 23rd floor and found the room. He entered after swiping the room card.
It was a luxurious suite, but Lu Shijin was the only one there.
It was clear what Jin Jingyao was implying. He wanted Lu Shijin to betray Wang Lizhi.
Lu Shijin wasn’t very surprised. Since Jin Jingyao also had a system, it was normal for him to know what kind of scum Wang Lizhi was.
Since they had the same goals, it would be better to work together.
Who cares about the main character and the main character halo? The two as a couple would be more than enough to take care of trash like Wang Lizhi.
And who cares about picking a day they were both free on, Jin Jingyao had already teased him. If he didn’t react, what would he do if Jin Jingyao thought he was straight?
Lu Shijin directly went to the bedroom and laid on the bed, preparing to wait for Jin Jingyao there.
After some time, Lu Shijin was startled awake by his phone ringing. It was Wang Lizhi.
“Lu-ge, it’s time to go back, where are you?”
“Oh, I had something to do and left first. I’ll be home later.”
“What? You didn’t tell me anything.”
“Family stuff. Don’t worry.”
“Okay, then I’ll go back first. Be careful.”
After hanging up, Lu Shijin knew that they were done filming, so he sent a message to Jin Jingyao, telling him that he was waiting for him on the 23rd floor.
Jin Jingyao didn’t respond. Lu Shijin figured he was too busy to use his phone.
Just as he was wondering about calling him, the door to the suit opened.
Lu Shijin immediately got up and hurriedly straightened the sheets before walking out.
He met with Jin Jingyao. When Lu Shijin saw his appearance, he was stunned.
Jin Jingyao hadn’t taken off his costume, and came over dressed in red. His white hair reached to his waist and was secured with a simple jade crown at the back of his neck. There was a belt around his waist, displaying how thin it was and how long his legs were. His clothes perfectly showed off his figure.
Jin Jingyao wasn’t shocked at seeing Lu Shijin. His gaze held some flirtation as he smiled, “What’s wrong? You can’t take your eyes off me anymore? But you didn’t even take a second look at me downstairs.”
No shit, you were a warm gentleman back then, not the Gu Chaoxing who’s an evil and arrogant demon, how could it be the same?
Indeed, Lu Shijin didn’t like the gentle type and preferred the flirtatious and alluring kind much more.
“Did you see my message?” Lu Shijin asked, “Why didn’t you respond?”
Jin Jingyao smiled, “I was already in front of the room when I saw it. I was so worried about you waiting that I didn’t even change, how would I have time to respond?”
Lu Shijin: . . .
Jin Jingyao started loosening his belt as he walked towards Lu Shijin, “I originally thought that you would think about it for a couple days before contacting me, not come here immediately. It seems Mr. Lu knows what I want.”
Seeing Jin Jingyao slowly strip in front of him, Lu Shijin felt his throat go dry. He had to cough to find his voice back.
“Mr. Jin’s words have really inspired me today.” Lu Shijin said openly, “I don’t want to be controlled by others, can you help me?”
“Of course. Why else would I tell you to come?”
Jin Jingyao looked at him, smirking. He had already taken off his outer robe, leaving him in his inner white robe. This one didn’t have a belt, and the collar loosened until his waist, showing a portion of his abs.
With his face and figure, he could have countless men and women at his feet, begging for a bit of attention.
“What does Mr. Jin want?” Lu Shijin asked.
Jin Jingyao sat in front of the dressing table and began taking off his makeup as he said, “You can change your name and your content, but the style that is imbued within your words cannot be changed. Wang Lizhi’s first novel was vastly different from all his other ones. However, it was very similar to your previous works, so I’m sure that he didn’t write any of his popular novels, but rather, you did.”
Lu Shijin admitted honestly, “Yes.”
Jin Jingyao smiled, “Although I don’t know why you would be a ghostwriter for him, I know that no author would willingly give their life and blood to someone else. So, why don’t you cooperate with me?”
“How?”
Jin Jingyao smiled, “We can expose him together.”
Lu Shijin also smiled, but he didn’t agree immediately. He wanted to find Jin Jingyao’s real purpose.
“But why are you doing this? He’s one of your new authors, if you expose him, your company would receive a huge financial backlash.”
“If I say that I want to help you out of some sense of justice, even I wouldn’t believe it, much less you.” Jin Jingyao smiled lightly, “But the truth is, I don’t like Wang Lizhi’s actions and sympathize with you. I can help you replace Wang Lizhi, how about it?”
Lu Shijin understood Jin Jingyao’s intentions. He wanted to be rid of the other main character. That way, he wouldn’t need to have anything to do with such a despicable person.
Lu Shijin stood behind Jin Jingyao with his arms crossed, saying with a faint smile, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch. Mr. Jin is helping me, yet I can’t do anything for you, it’s impossible for such an unbalanced relationship to last.”
“Can’t do anything for me?” Jin Jingyao didn’t turn around but met with Lu Shijin’s gaze through the mirror, his smile deepening, “Didn’t you just accept my commission?”
“What?” Lu Shijin was startled. Then, he realized what he meant and asked incredulously, “That Cat Ears! It’s you?! Holy fuck! You commissioned fan fiction about yourself?!”
Jin Jingyao stood up and held Lu Shijin in place with his gaze, “Not only did I commission it in writing, I also want to find someone to act it out with me. Who do you think would be appropriate?”
