It seemed that the spear, which had already consumed all of the key’s blood, finally found its next prey. The shape of the hilt gradually underwent a change and it straight away swallowed Ruslan’s hand whole—like that of a beast’s jaws. As that was still not enough, it began to climb his arm little by little.
“Uwaack, uwaaaaaaacckk!!”
Kimaris’s nightmare would not take the life of the certain target. Instead, it just showed what they had feared the most. Every time they closed their eyes, it would fiercely cling to them again and again until the moment when their life finally ended—never letting go at all.
Exhausted, but unable to sleep. Awake, but having to suffer from confusion as well as delirium and eventually, the line between dreams and reality turned into a blur. However, they couldn’t just live solely in fantasy. Since their nerves and senses were all maximized, the physical pain could still be felt intact.
The reason why Kimaris had placed the spear into the key’s hand was probably due to the fact that he wanted her to use this ability upon himself. That was actually beyond ridiculous.
“Why are you still alive?! Die, die! Stay away from me!!”
An eerie light flashed from Ruslan’s widened eyes. Just like a rabid animal, frothy saliva eventually trickled down his chin. Unaware that the nightmare was actually following the red tarantula that had burrowed into his armor, he proceeded to grab the spear that had still been devouring his arm.
Ruslan’s screams were eventually transmitted to Julia, whose sight was obscured by Bael. She immediately clutched onto Bael’s collar anxiously.
“Demon King, what are you doing?”
“…”
“Demon King!”
If someone’s life had ended just like this, there would be no future left for her. The nervousness ultimately made her twist her body while trying to break free from Bael’s arms.
“I’ll tell you if you call out my name.”
“What?”
“Call me by my name. Not by that ridiculous title.”
Julia opened her lips blankly. A moment of silence fell between the two of them at once.
They were not even in bed and countless eyes had been looking straight at them. On top of that, someone who knew them was dying desperately beyond her still shrouded vision.
Her chest suddenly tightened for no apparent reason. Her face eventually heated up and every single look in his eyes that grazed her all over had made her hot as if she was on fire. Her heart felt ticklish and she could no longer stand it.
Similar to someone who had been accustomed to doing so for a very long time, she proceeded to bury her forehead into his chest without even realizing it herself.
“Bael.”
“…”
“Bael, please… hup!”
She couldn’t even finish her words. Bael had lunged like an animal as he swallowed her lips. At the same time, the opaque film that surrounded the place began to vanish just like they had melted away. The red magic circle, which had been shining earlier, dimly submerged itself beneath the ground as well.
After the humans were all liberated, the demons, who had been trembling just outside, also began to jump inside at once.
“Master! They finally decided to withdraw the request for the key’s return. In exchange, a formal letter has arrived requesting the safe return of the emissaries instead. So, please calm yourself—ah.”
Barbatos, who stood in the lead, could not speak any more as he stopped in his tracks at once. Before long, Bael raised his head and carried Julia in his arms as he eventually made a move towards the Demon Castle.
“Bring that human Sword Master. The key needs mana.”
“Understood.”
Barbatos fell to his knees before he took a glance at the direction where the emissaries from the Human Realm had gathered from earlier. A man from Vestra could currently be seen to be consumed by a nightmare while struggling just like crazy. Not only that, he had also been injected with the red tarantula venom to boot.
That man would end up living a very long time. Of course, in this case, a long life would obviously become a curse in itself rather than a great blessing.
“Well, Demon King…”

The red light that had been flickering right at the edge of her vision gradually began to invade the center. Julia steadily managed to hold her head up while trying to hold back all the nausea and dizziness.
Bael looked downwards at her. It seemed to be deadly just like a potent poison, but in fact, he was only staring at her beautiful face that had taken away his entire gaze. However, when Julia had called out ‘Demon King’ earlier, he wrinkled his brow like someone who felt absolutely dissatisfied indeed.
She smiled faintly before her mouth soon tightened with much tension.
“Bael, what about the people now then?”
“How do you want it to be?”
“I want you to return them back to the surface.”
Julia peered over Bael’s shoulder and straight went towards the crowd. Ruslan’s right arm had been completely swallowed by Kimaris’s spear. It seemed like no matter what was done, the two could no longer be separated.
“As long as they’re alive, I don’t really care what happens after that.”
Julia’s head soon fell into Bael’s arms. She slowly closed her eyes as she took a deep breath.
She suddenly felt terrified of herself thinking about it, but at least to Ruslan, she hoped that he could finally pay the price of giving herself and Legion a hard time with this. Otherwise, it seemed that there would be no other way to release all the resentment and tears that she had been suffering thus far.
