Chapter 132

5 min read

The sun had set and darkness befell.

I threw my exhausted body onto the bed and raised my left hand towards the sky. The ring Sihael gave me sparkled in the light.

‘It’s pretty.’

Even though I found the meaning behind the ring burdensome, to be honest, I really liked it. The ring, which was neither overly flashy nor plain, was a design that could be worn casually on a daily basis.

However, the presence of the empty ring finger where the ring had sat was huge.

“Haa, I got caught by Lanoa.”

‘You’re already wearing a ring! This brother won’t allow it yet!’

Says the one who sold me out for a wine.

Aside from Lanoa, who was running around talking nonsense, it was a little embarrassing to see Leonard, my parents and even the maids looking at me with strange gazes. So I removed the ring from my finger.

“Tomorrow there’ll be another uproar, right Little Sasha?”

I pulled the dog doll lying on the pillow and shook the doll’s front paws.

“Hey, Little Shasha. The main Shasha said your body imprinted on me. What should I do?”

Hugging the doll and muttering to myself, I raised my arms and covered my eyes.

“What should I do…”

There was a deep sense of relief, but it was for a while. Then a heavier responsibility weighed on me.

I wanted to run away, but I couldn’t. Because if I ran away, Sihael would never be able to break his curse.

‘That’s a no-no.’

What would be the point of trying to bring Lilliana and Sihael together. It was all to break Sihael’s curse. However, when I heard that he had imprinted on me, I didn’t know what to do.

“I can’t even stop him from imprinting…”

Once imprinted, it could not be broken until the opponent died.

No, the imprint remained even after death.

There was a reason why the word “eternal partner” existed. In other words, it meant that Sihael was forever tied to me.

It was terrifying. It was too heavy and scary at the same time that someone’s future and life depended on me. It was no longer possible to evade with the shield of temporary protection.

I had an obligation to take care of Sihael. No one forced me to do it, but I felt responsible.

Because I knew of the happy future that awaited for Sihael, I couldn’t break that dream all the more.

But there was a very big problem here.

In order to break the curse of Sihael, I would have to spend a steamy night with him…

“Aww! Oh my god!”

I pulled the blanket over my head and stamped my feet. My face, no, my whole body was burning.

‘How can friends do such a thing!’

No, we’re not even friends anymore.  Sihael already broke that by confessing to me and I…,

I didn’t know what Sihael meant to me. I stayed up all night with the setting moon.

Unlike my troubled mind, time passed by helplessly.

The people of the mansion, who were buzzing about what happened between Sihael and me, quietly closed their mouths when they saw my dark, gloomy face.

It took an instant for the festive atmosphere to turn into a funeral.

I know there’s a lot of talk about me and Sihael going around, but how did the rumor spread so much that it turned my house into a mourning place in a few days?

‘Is it rumored that I was dumped?’

It’s plausible. People might have perceived the traces of anguish on my face as scars from a broken heart.

“Young Lady seems too upset after rejecting His Highness.”

“Of course she should have refused him! What’s wrong with our lady refusing a cassanova for a man.”

But what is all this nonsense?

‘Does Sihael have another lover?’

When I happened to hear the maids talking while passing through the hallway, I sneaked up and poked my head out.

“Who said that? Does His Highness have a girl?”

“There’s a rumor all over the mansion now- whoops, My Lady!”

“Oh, My Lady, what brings you here…?”

The chatty maids jumped up and down. I waved my hand at the maids who bent their backs as if to touch the floor.

“There’s no need for such formalities. I’m curious about that rumor, too, so tell me.”

When I urged them to speak quickly, the maids contemplated for  a while before cautiously saying, “We’ve heard that… on the day of your coming of age ceremony, someone saw His Highness hugging another lady…”

The maid stopped speaking when she saw my expression getting stiff.

That’s strange. Sihael was not the kind of person to do that. After confessing to me, how could he be close with another girl? No way!

And even if I didn’t trust Sihael, he had already imprinted on me.

I have his heart so he couldn’t have feelings for anyone else.
