Chapter 127

5 min read

Burying my face in my hands instead of a mouse hole, I screamed inwardly. Then, surprised, Sihael covered my cheek.

“Are you crying?”

“Who is crying?”

Carefully following the hand that lifted his face, he raised his eyes and saw Sihael’s worried face.

“Your eyes are a little red?”

A soft hand caressing the corner of her eye, causing something inside me to burst into tears.

“Your Highness, don’t you feel anything when you see Liliana? Really nothing? Any interest?”

“You said that even though I cleared up the misunderstanding myself?”

“Misunderstandings can become truths.”

In the end, Sihael shook his head wildly at the story of returning on the same road.

“Rosetta, do you hate me?”

“It can’t be.”

Rather, I don’t want to be taken away, so I’m disgustingly jealous. Swallowing those words, I dismissed his bullshit. Then, the ferocious light of Sihael softened a little.

“Then why do you keep pushing me away? It looks like you’re about to throw me away.”

“Throw you away?”

I’m not trying to throw him away, but I’m trying to safely return it to where it should be. I was just protecting him temporarily.

“Listen, I am not interested in her.”

“You say this now, but later you will need her. Liliana will be very important to Your Highness.”

In order to lift the curse, the imprint is essential, so it was only natural that he needed Liliana, who would become his imprint.

It wasn’t something that Sihael could deny just because he denied it.

It wasn’t something I could hold on to because I didn’t want to be taken away.

It was a relationship like a grain of sand that would eventually slip out of my hand no matter how hard I gripped it. Seeing my resolute and unyielding face, Sihael touched his forehead in frustration.  Even if I don’t say anything, I think I’m cursing myself for being stubborn.

Sihael let out a big sigh and immediately looked at me with strong eyes as if he had made up his mind.

“The only person important to me is you.”

“It’s not easy to say that. What are you going to do later or what?”

“It’s not an easy thing to say.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

Sihael kissed my hand with a confident answer.

It was a kiss from the back of my hand, to my fingers, then to my fingertips. Surprised by his unfamiliar sensation, I tried to remove his hand, but Sihael bit my index finger.

“Yes.”

“I’ve imprinted.”

“…What?”

Sihael whispered softly and curled the corners of his eyes.

“On you.”

Obsession overflowed in his half-folded bright yellow eyes. He slowly shook his head in deep emotion toward me.

“… Lies.”

It made no sense. Why are you imprinting on me when you have Liliana? I wondered in denial of reality.

In my heart, I wanted to let go of my mind and escape from reality, but Sihael held me tight and wouldn’t let go.

“You know that. That I like about you.”

Thump, my heart sank.

It felt like transcending in a different dimension to hear his feelings and his confession in person. I moistened my parched lips and muttered in a trembling voice.

“Even so, it can’t be imprinted already…”

“Rosetta, do you know when I imprinted on you?”

“… When.”

“It was the first time you saw my face.”

… The day you became human that day?

I held my breath. Somehow, I thought it was strange that he suddenly returned to being human, but was it because of the imprint?

“Then from then…”

“That’s right. I have been with you ever since.”

Sihael put his right leg between my spread legs and pushed me in. I was helplessly pushed all the way to the back of the sofa. I grabbed my dress clumsily from Sihael, who had approached right in front of me. Warnings to get away from him went off in my head, but I couldn’t move.

It was because I was overwhelmed by the heavy momentum of Sihael, which I had felt for the first time.

“You were the one who put the leash around my neck, but now you’re going to throw me away in the wrong place?”

His hands gently tucked the flowing hair behind his ears.

But his eyes that looked at me were crying ferociously.

“You should have been careful when putting the leash around the animal’s neck.”

“…”

“Aren’t you the irresponsible owner who lets go of the leash saying he can’t come now?”

Sihael smiled as he grabbed my hand and brought it to his neck.

“I am yours.”

I willingly gave up my neck as he whispered softly in my ear.

“You even have my soul.”

The hand holding my neck trembled. My eyes landed on his lips.

“Don’t abandon me.”

My mind was confused. A swirl of embarrassment, fear, and anxiety remained in my mind, yet it was the biggest relief.

My mind was extremely selfish to not want to lose Sihael to anyone.

Damnit.

‘Now, Sihael… .’

I felt refreshed as if I had been doused with cold water.

Can you really take responsibility? It’s different from when we were together with a light heart.

A warning voice rang in his head.  Perhaps reading my thoughts, Sihael blocked the escape route.

“I can find you wherever you run or hide.”

A hot wind blew past my ear, and sharp fangs bit my earlobe.

“Yes.”

“If you run away this time, I will really eat you.”

Those words felt like a sentence that I could never escape.
