I lowered my hand that blocked Sihael’s mouth and whispered quietly. Then he too lowered his voice and whispered, “Is it okay as long as we don’t get caught?”
“All you have to do is loosen up your arms around me!”
Wait, why are you holding me more tightly!
I couldn’t help but be astonished at the force that gripped my waist. Sihael pushed me with his hands, as if he wanted us to go somewhere. I was taken aback by his sudden reckless behaviour, but I broke into a cold sweat at the clear sound.
“Did you say the young lady has disappeared?”
“Maybe she went back to her room because she was tired?”
They’re close! The voice heard from the other side of the corner gradually drew nearer.
‘They’ll see us if they go right around the corner!’
If we went on like this, we would get caught. There was no time to argue with Sihael. I was sure he must have been aiming for this.
“Rosetta, what are you going to do?”
A relaxed voice rang in my ear that did not fit the situation.
“Yes, yes! I got it. Hurry up!”
“Then let’s go in.”
“What? Ugh!”
The body, which had lost its balance, fell backwards against the wall that had suddenly disappeared. Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around Sihael’s neck. At the same time, I felt a strong arm supporting my back.
“Did you hear anything?”
“No, I didn’t hear anything.”
I was able to overcome the predicament safely by a narrow margin, and my heart was swept away by the voice that was gradually moving away. Then all that was left was to take care of the sly wolf that still clung to me.
“Success.”
“You’re saying something like success!”
It’s…!
“Ugh.”
Sihael, who was hit in the stomach by my fist, fell forward. Ignoring his pitiful trembling shoulders, I quickly distanced myself from him.
‘Wicked wolf! Are you trying to seduce me with your body now?’
However, the problem was not Sihael, who kept clinging to me. The real problem was me, who would fall for his beauty trap everytime I let my guard down a little.
“Rosetta, this one hurts a little.”
“I hit you because I wanted it to hurt.”
Sihael stood up rubbing his sore stomach. The pain must have been quite great, seeing how his eyebrows scrunched up.
‘What should I do now?’
An awkward feeling lingered between the two of us. No, maybe I was the only one who felt awkward. That’s why I felt the need to change this awkward atmosphere even more.
“Your Highness, did you have fun with Lilliana?”
I didn’t mean to ask him this. Unconsciously, I let out the topic I cared about the most and bit my lip in frustration.
“No.”
Liar. I saw you two laughing and talking with each other. I only pushed the innocent carpet away with my feet.
“What did you two talk about?”
“…It was about your blood and my mana deluge.”
“But why did you exclude me from that talk?”
“Because you’ll run away from me if you hear it.”
What, is that really why you excluded me from the talk? It was a much more futile reason than I thought, and my stiff shoulders drooped.
“I’ve told you before. If I was going to run away, I wouldn’t have come to the capital with you.”
I’ve seen all sorts of things, but how could he think I’d run away now? When I pouted my lips and grunted, Sihael was delighted. Sihael’s face, which seemed to be lacking in confidence, suddenly lit up.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“So you would not run away?”
“Yes.”
Maybe my answer gave him courage, but he, who had kept a distance between us, suddenly came closer.
“I’ve told you before. When I get drunk on your blood, my appetite rises, and I want to swallow you from head to toe.”
“Yes.”
“What if I want to eat you in a different way?”
“…What?”
Sihael’s gaze turned downward. I opened my mouth in a daze when I realised that his gaze was focused on my lips.
No way? When our eyes met, Sihael laughed heartily. I quickly recoiled from him, a red light flashing dangerously in my head.
“You said you wouldn’t run away.”
The leisurely gait chasing me was like that of a wolf looking for prey. I hesitated and took a step back, but I tripped on the edge of the sofa and fell down.
‘Of all things…!’
I took a deep breath at his deepening smile.
There was nowhere else to run.
I quickly tried to get my disorganized body up, but Sihael’s hand pushing on my shoulder was quicker.
Plop.
Falling on the sofa again and lying half-way down, I swallowed nervously at Sihael’s heated gaze. Seeing my neck twitching slowly, Sihael’s smile deepened.
“Are you scared?”
“No…”
Rather, I’m very flustered. Wouldn’t it be embarrassing for anyone to suddenly hear that someone gets excited because of their blood?
“You definitely said you’d stay by my side.”
Sihael, who grabbed the handle of the sofa, slowly leaned his body.
“Why, why do you keep coming closer…?”
“Why, you kept running away so I have to come to catch you.”
The shadow slowly falling over my head made my eyes dizzy.
‘What should I do? What should I do?’
I didn’t know how to deal with Sihael because it was the first time he was approaching me so blatantly. The head turned blank, and my eyes became as big as saucers.
