The next morning, Mu Cai was woken up by a knock on the door.
He grabbed his cell phone and found it was eight o’clock in the morning, so he estimated one of the others called to wake him up.
Because of Mo Hengqing’s father, the family’s routine was very regimented. Usually, no loud noises were allowed after 10 p.m, and every morning around seven-thirty, someone would come to call for breakfast.

Mu Cai’s hands on his face paused.
