The little dragon gave him a not-so-gentle whip with its tail and grunted softly. (2)
Inside the room, Shi An had already regained his human form.
He was draped in a loose shirt, sitting cross-legged on a soft carpet, his fair face illuminated by the shifting light and shadows, and was intently watching the giant TV screen not far away.
This room was different from three days ago.
The latest game consoles, the largest TV screen, the most luxurious bed, the softest cushion – somehow, he could never refuse any request from Shi An.
Unknowingly, the room had been stuffed to the brim with a lively atmosphere.
Mu Heng sat down next to Shi An.
Shi An’s eyes were still firmly glued to the TV, but his body leaned over submissively as if he had no bones and plunged into the man’s arms.
The jingling.
The silver chain on his ankle emitted a crisp ringing sound.
Mu Heng’s eyes fell on the young man’s slender white ankles. He stretched out his hand, carelessly stroked the top of Shi An’s soft hair, and asked, “I never asked you before. What type of dragon are you?”
Shi An raised his dark and dense eyelashes. The bottom of his eyes was filled with shifting light and shadow. “Why don’t you try to guess it?”
“I can’t guess it.”
Shi An was a little disappointed as he protested. “You haven’t even tried!”
He rolled over in Mu Heng’s arms.
His collar opened up with the movement, revealing a small half of his soft and bare chest.
However, in the next second, crimson flames flared up from the bottom of his eyes, and his dark eyes were replaced by golden-red vertical pupils, which seemed to have been lit up for ages, ancient and primitive, with a savage power that made one’s breath stop.
“Fire Dragon, Silver Dragon, Black Dragon, Rock Dragon.”
The young man’s voice was as usual but seemed extremely distant. “They’re all less powerful than me.”
His pupils appeared to have a magical power that could suck people in.
At that moment, Mu Heng felt he had been taken back to the dark and horrible continent ten million years ago.
There was a barren wasteland with dragons soaring above.
“I am the Abyss Dragon.”
And the most powerful and beautiful of these beings leaned down and looked at him.
“Humans once called me the conqueror of the sky and the sea, the destroyer of flames and fears, from the abyss to the continent. Everywhere that can be covered by shadows is my territory, and everything that can be burned is my slave.”
Its whispers echoed across the continent like a whistling and reverberating wind.
Or maybe it was some ancient incantation with a powerful force that humans could not understand.
“More or less like that.”
The young man blinked, and the blaze burning under his eyes went out, turning into a transparent, innocent black.
He yawned and said in a lazy voice, “But that was already a long time ago.”
Shi An thought for a moment and complained, “The continent at that time was so boring, far worse than now, and there was nothing too good to eat.”
Unlike now, there are TVs, video games, snacks, and ice cream.
Although some humans are annoying, it is much better than those dull and dark years.
Only then did Mu Heng return to his senses from the illusion he had just had.
His chest rose and fell erratically, and his blue eyes rippled with surging and unpredictable emotions.
Apart from accompanying Shi An in the past few days, he had constantly read the ancient books in the Mu family’s book collection.
–About the Mu family and the dragons.
Even so, the name of Abyss Dragon was still very unfamiliar to him.
Only a few ancient texts mentioned a few sentences, but the subsequent labels were “incomprehensible” and “unknown.”
This was a mighty bloodline that had been extinct in ancient times.
Even at the time when the Mu family was active, they had never encountered a single Abyssal Dragon.
Mu Heng took a deep breath to hide the complex emotions in the bottom of his eyes as he leaned down and touched the chain at the young man’s ankle, stroking it softly with his burning fingers.
An alchemist created this chain and allowed the owner to determine the length and weight.
To reduce the obstruction to Shi An’s activities, Mu Heng always kept its mass at the lightest and its length at the longest, allowing unrestricted access throughout the courtyard.
Even though Mu Heng had almost always agreed to Shi An’s requests these days, if Shi An wanted to unlock the chains, he would have refused him without hesitation.
Although Shi An said he preferred his current state, deep inside, Mu Heng did not believe it.
He did not believe a dragon would take the initiative to stay by his side.
However, apart from the first day when Shi An asked about it, he never mentioned it after that.
Mu Heng finally knew why.
He asked softly, “This can’t lock you up, am I right?”
It might be effective against Fire Dragons, Rock Dragons, or other dragons.
But to the Abyss Dragon…
This chain was nothing more than a mere toy.
Mu Heng heard a mocking snort in his heart as if ridiculing his naivety and arrogance.
Shi An seemed utterly unaware of the complex emotions of the human in front of him.
He scratched his head and said embarrassedly, “My magic power will be restricted a little and I will be scalded if I intend to attack, but it’s not impossible to break free if I want to do so forcibly.”
Mu Heng heard his voice get strained, “… Don’t you want to leave?”
“I don’t want to.” Shi An shook his head without hesitation. “Besides…”
Mu Heng stared at him closely. “Besides?”
Shi An swayed his feet, making a jingling sound, and the shimmering silver chains shone in the room. “Forcibly struggling free will break it.”
Mu Heng was stunned.
He heard his heart racing intensely to an unbelievable degree, so loud that he could not concentrate on his thoughts.
The young man tilted his head, his eyes transparent and pure in the shifting dim light behind him.
He blinked and spoke in a crisp voice.
“But this is a gift from you.”
