Bullshit (1)
Bai Qi was still in the theater when the three other teams reached.
Zhou Yuanqi let out a sigh of relief. “I thought that he’d gone to the next stop.”
Zhou Yanfeng asked, “Is this something Bai Qi isn’t really good at?”
“Let me have a look,” Fu Chunying offered.
Soon, they were each allocated with a mentor.
Zhou Yuanqi couldn’t help but ask his mentor, “Bai Qi, that guy, who is his mentor?”
“Frank, the best actor in our theater,” the mentor answered.
Zhou Yuanqi felt disappointed.
Seems like you wouldn’t be able to get the good ones if you’re late.
The comments never stopped coming in.
Bai Qi sat at backstage and Frank started by teaching him proper pronunciation and how to memorize the lines. In the end, he also taught him different methods to act and present himself on stage.
【It seems like Bai Qi can’t seem to get into the mood?】
【I’m starting to worry about the movie he acted in, ermm】
【Come on, I think you should worry about yourself first】
【Don’t y’all think that Frank is being a little too chatty?】
【He’s good looking, I can forgive him】
Frank froze for a moment and put down the script. “Are the lines difficult to remember?”
“Nope,” Bai Qi answered.
To be considerate towards the guests’ English proficiency, the skit that they had to act in was only 3 minutes long, and each of them had less than 10 sentences.
According to Bai Qi’s current abilities, this was perfect for him.
“Do you feel nervous?” Frank smiled gently and pointed at himself. “Or does my makeup look weird?”
“No, you look good.” Bai Qi paused and said, “I’m not nervous, it’s just difficult for me to get into character…”
It was not easy to be a good actor.
He had to act while the cameras were running, and also while he was on stage.
Bai Qi tilted his head and plastered his back against the back of the chair. Yet, he couldn’t seem to get into character.
“How many plays have you seen in the past?” Frank asked.
“None,” Bai Qi felt embarrassed to admit. He certainly didn’t have a particular interest in this area of performance.
Frank didn’t mind. He nodded and said, “I’ll tell you the stories of some famous plays, such as ‘A Doll’s House’ and ‘King Lear’. How does that sound?”
The fellow was being polite, so Bai Qi couldn’t help but nod.
By the time Frank was done explaining the two plays, Bai Qi was reminded of a play they had in his home country.
“Have you heard of ‘Thunderstorm’ by Cao Yu?” Bai Qi asked.
He had read that play during his school days in class and it left a strong impression on him.
Frank’s eyes lit up. “I’ve heard about that.”
Thus, Frank told him about the fall of Madame Bovary, whereas he told Frank about the horrendous story from ‘Thunderstorm’.
Towards the end, Frank asked about life in China, and enquired about the reason why Bai Qi was part of the reality TV show.
【Who allowed them to start chatting?】
【Is Frank ethnically Chinese?】
Most guests found this stage challenging. However, it was easy for Zhou Yanfeng and Fu Chunying. They passed the session smoothly and were the first to finish.
Xu Yi was good at acting and had some experience with plays. However, Qiu Sichuan couldn’t really keep up, thus, they were also very stuck.
On the other hand, Zhao Tingting stood there like a figurine, while Zhou Yuanqi was doing even worse than his partner.
Zhao Tingting looked towards Zhou Yuanqi.
“What?” Zhou Yuanqi asked.
“Sigh.”
【HAHAHA, I think she suddenly had the thought of getting a divorce】
Qiu Sichuan turned over to say, “I’ve held you back.”
“Ah,” Xu Yi replied.
“Don’t you have anything else to say?” Qiu Sichuan said.
Xu Yi looked at them, confused. “Why don’t we try again?”
Qiu Sichuan was speechless.
【The two of them are surprisingly cuter than Zhou Yuanqi, who is a disgustingly sweet person. How scary】
Frank and Bai Qi were in an intense conversation. He looked at Bai Qi with gleaming eyes and asked, “I would be visiting China soon, so can I pay you a visit then?”
【My gosh! When will Xi-ge come back? If not, Bai Qiqi will be kidnapped!】
【Who knew that this is a handsome young man with ulterior motives】
Bai Qi asked him, “Are you coming to China for a vacation?”
“No, I’ll be going there to try to find my parents. Can you tell? I look Chinese. I don’t know who my parents are, and I don’t know who my relatives are. However, I think that I should be ethnically Chinese… I’ve met many Chinese people in the past, but when I asked them if I could visit them in China, none of them agreed. Is it because of the way I asked them? Did I sound like a bad person?”
“You do,” Bai Qi replied.
‘If you weren’t so handsome, I’m sure you would’ve been beaten up.’
“So, can I pay you a visit when I’m in China?”
“I guess so,” Bai Qi gave it some thought and said, “If you are a bad person, I’m sure you’ll be caught red-handed by the audiences.”
Frank was dumbfounded, but he soon mended his broken heart.
“Are there that many people watching? Are they viewers of this live stream? How many of them are there?” Frank asked.
“I think so. Around a few hundred thousand? Or a million,” Bai Qi replied.
【Tell him! Tell him that a million people are watching him right now!】
“You’re such a charming man, to attract such a huge audience…” Frank said.
“I’m not. Xi-laoshi is, and the other guests are too,” Bai Qi said with a smile.
【Do you even know yourself well? Baby, you have many fans】
“But I think that you’re amazing. You’re cute and perfect…”
【Enough is enough. Xi-laoshi is on his way to slaughter you】
Frank must really like Bai Qi. After he’d praised him, he gave it his all while he helped Bai Qi practice for the play.
Bai Qi was the last to leave the theater.
By then, the sky was already quite dark.
The production team told them to find their own way to the next destination. Bai Qi had no objections. He stood at the door of the theater and waited for Frank to get off from work. He waved at him and asked, “Can I hitch a ride with you?”
Frank happily agreed. “Sure!”
When they were in the car, Frank looked at the cameraman, who followed and was sitting in the back seat. He chatted with Bai Qi, “I heard that you’re filming a couple’s reality show. Is that right?”
“Mn.”
“So, is your wife the ‘Xi-laoshi’ that you mentioned?”
“Nope, he is my husband.”
Frank looked at him in shock before promptly regaining his composure.
“He’s the person who you said is charming?”
“Yup.” Bai Qi replied while thinking about Xi-laoshi. He leaned against the car window and said in a low voice, “Xi-laoshi is very good looking, and he’s good at everything. He can easily settle the most difficult issues…”
Bai Qi noticed that he was being more low-key. He wasn’t praising Xi-laoshi as enthusiastically as he was in the first episode.
Bai Qi was surprised. Was his vocabulary deteriorating?
Was this the result of him reading less?
【Erm, I would like to point out that Qi Qi looks different today, but I’m not sure in what sense】
【Why did Xi-laoshi take a leave? Is this why Qi Qi isn’t looking fine today?】
【No idea… But I feel relieved that Bai Qi openly talked about his husband with Frank. If not, Xi-laoshi would be cheated on without him even knowing!!! 】
【Sister, you’re sharp】
“He’s a celebrity?” Frank asked.
“Yes,” Bai Qi replied.
