Recount of a Cannon Fodder’s Counterattack (3)
The marketing company found Wang Lizhi and brought up cooperation. Wang Lizhi directly agreed since it would make him a lot more popular.
But he overestimated himself. Other than luck, his success on his first novel was inseparable from Lu Shijin’s draft.
With Wang Lizhi’s writing ability, he couldn’t even pass the bare minimum for a couple thousand character short story, much less a novel of hundreds of thousands.
But signing with the marketing company meant that if Wang Lizhi didn’t write things that satisfied them, not only would he lose the money he gave them, he would also have to pay cancellation fees. This made Wang Lizhi very anxious.
Wang Lizhi had no idea what to do, so he turned again to the only person he knew and trusted, the cannon fodder Lu Shijin.
Wang Lizhi wanted Lu Shijin to help him write a blockbuster and they could split the money thirty seventy, him thirty and Lu Shijin seventy.
Although Lu Shijin had social anxiety, he wasn’t a fool. Wang Lizhi was clearly treating him like cannon fodder. Lu Shijin was living fine with his own writing, he obviously rejected him.
This crossed his moral line. No matter how much Wang Lizhi begged, Lu Shijin didn’t budge.
Wang Lizhi made another plan. He first pretended to apologize to Lu Shijin, since he shouldn’t ask such things from his friends, then ask for an in-person meeting. His reason was that Lu Shijin had helped him a lot, so he wanted to invite him for a meal. It would be both an apology and a thank you.
Seeing how sincere Wang Lizhi was, and how he admitted his mistake, Lu Shijin didn’t continue being stubborn with his hard-gotten friend and agreed.
Wang Lizhi soon came to find Lu Shijin. Lu Shijin found out that Wang Lizhi was quite handsome, seeming like a hottie you could find on the streets.
Lu Shijin was two years older than Wang Lizhi. Wang Lizhi immediately started eagerly calling him ‘gege’ with none of the awkwardness that would come from a first meeting.
People who had social anxiety would be afraid of social situations, but also be awed by the people who could navigate them like a fish in water.
So Lu Shijin had a good impression of Wang Lizhi and didn’t take any precautions.
This oversight gave Wang Lizhi an opportunity.
After dinner, Wang Lizhi used the excuse that hotels were too expensive and he didn’t want to spend so much money to stay in the place Lu Shijin was renting for a night.
As the host, faced with someone who traveled miles to come see him, Lu Shijin couldn’t refuse and brought Wang Lizhi home.
They had drunk quite a lot while eating, and on the way back, Wang Lizhi bought some beer from a convenience store. He said that he wouldn’t rest until both of them were drunk.
Lu Shijin didn’t suspect anything, thinking that it was just some drunk talk from a friend. He didn’t expect that he was already in Wang Lizhi’s trap.
That night, the two drank a lot.
The next day, when Lu Shijin saw a naked Wang Lizhi laying beside him, he almost fell out of bed from shock.
When Wang Lizhi woke up, he was a lot more calm than Lu Shijin. He didn’t hide any of the traces on his body and told Lu Shijin that he was already attracted to Lu Shijin online, and those feelings became stronger after seeing Lu Shijin in person. He asked if he wanted to try dating him.
Although Lu Shijin knew that he was bent, he was too scared to talk to people, much less date or meet fellow homosexual men.
Seeing Lu Shijin’s hesitation, Wang Lizhi smiled, “You’ve already slept with me, but you won’t take responsibility?”
To be honest, Wang Lizhi’s appearance was Lu Shijin’s type, and his well-spoken manner and passionate personality was even more to Lu Shijin’s taste.
What was more, it was clearly his drunken self who messed around and slept with him, so Lu Shijin had to take responsibility.
With this additional layer of a relationship, it was a lot easier for Wang Lizhi to ask Lu Shijin to be his ghostwriter.
But Lu Shijin still wouldn’t cross his bottom line. He could give feedback and ideas to Wang Lizhi, but never write it himself.
But Wang Lizhi had already tasted success without needing to do any work, so he naturally had more plans.
He had actually taken pictures of what they did yesterday and threatened to post them on Weibo if Lu Shijin didn’t agree, completely ruining Lu Shijin.
After threatening him, Wang Lizhi then spoke about how he already gave himself to Lu Shijin, so he couldn’t treat him so harshly. If Lu Shijin helped him this once, then not only would they have a great relationship, they would also earn a lot of money, wasn’t it just perfect?
Lu Shijin couldn’t believe that Wang Lizhi dared to do this. It turned out that all of his feelings were fake. His true goal was to use him as cannon fodder!
But even if Lu Shijin realized it, it was too late for regrets.
It was because he was careless in treating people as his friends and even let a wolf into his house. To get those pictures deleted, Lu Shijin could only agree.
