Today marked the day when the messengers finally returned to the Earth once again. Amidst the hustle and bustle at the Devil’s Castle, Julia eventually managed to seize a moment of solitude before taking a seat down at the edge of her bed while clutching over her stiff body.
As Julia’s hand began to emit a bright effect, it quickly underwent a transformation. A massive bow in the shape of ice crystals was now equipped in her left hand. And right at the tip of her right index finger, a faint light continued to flicker.
When she brought it closer to the bow, a long arrowhead was automatically generated.
“My special weapon is actually a bow. I wonder what abilities it holds. It would be great if it had at least some physical strength.”
In the game ‘Demon’s Paradise’ the types of weapons given to the player varied depending on their playstyle and progression route. Although she hadn’t really tried it many times, the weapons that she acquired so far were mostly ineffective, to be honest.
However, this time, the design of the weapon appeared a little bit special from the start. A delicate sense of craftsmanship had gone into the translucent, sparkling bow that resembled just like a real bloom of ice crystals. It was nearly a meter long, but it didn’t feel heavy enough to be seen as a burden.
“Should I give it a try?”
As Julia raised her finger right near the bowstring, an arrow soon materialized. Along with bated breath, she opened the window slightly and loaded the weapon through the given gap.

With a sharp metallic sound, the tip that had materialized onto the bowstring shattered into pieces. Immediately, a golden wooden skill tree appeared into her field of vision in reflex. The 3 skill points that she had received as a reward from the last five chapters had also come to mind.

Unlike the existing skills that had started back at level 1 with a requirement of only one skill point to learn, weapon skills required three points each, but they didn’t have any levels instead.
With only three points gained for having completed one chapter successfully, Julia could only learn one skill this time. She compared the two skills, but since both of them were of such contrasting natures in terms of attack, she couldn’t easily choose one in the end.
“I don’t need to learn one right now anyway…”
As Julia lowered her arm, the Meteor Shower in her left hand melted away just like a mirage. She let out a small sigh and just when she was about to turn her body, she could notice a large crowd that started emerging from outside.
‘They’re finally leaving.’
As she subconsciously scanned through the crowd, she then turned her gaze all of a sudden. She was afraid that she might unintentionally spot Ruslan amidst all the people. Just by seeing him might be resurrecting her past traumas plus, she never wanted to see him anymore.
Julia was all focused on the procession outside the window while being unaware that someone had been approaching her slowly from behind. Her hesitant steps backwards had collided abruptly with that particular someone behind her.
“Ah…!”
Startled, Julia instinctively closed her eyes. At that moment, a large, gentle palm that belonged to a man’s hand had softly brushed against her cheek. Bael was already standing in front of her, though she didn’t even know when he had entered.
“You’re here?”
“…Yes.”
“Thank you for granting my request.”
He had kept his promise to spare their lives before sending them back to Earth. When she was in front of Bael, she couldn’t afford to show herself trembling in fear.
Julia cautiously leaned her head against his large chest as he wordlessly pulled her even close. Then, as she slowly lifted her eyelids…

You’re trembling after all. Those damned humans, should they really be sent back alive like that?]
Julia’s startled heart instantly pounded within her chest. She couldn’t actually believe what she was currently looking at.
‘Why is the Sight ability suddenly working on Bael…?’
She hadn’t even entered a command, but the system window in front of her automatically moved before it soon stopped at a specific item in hidden stats.

Her devilism, which had been at a mere number of 80 when she saw it back during the time in the Western Lands, had risen so significantly. However, Julia couldn’t really comprehend all of this.
Since that moment, she became especially cautious about what she would have to consume. If it was from the Demon Realm, she would hardly touch it and when there had been nothing else to eat, she drastically chose to go hungry. She even made special requests to Kimaris in regards to the ingredients for food.
‘Kimaris wouldn’t have been neglectful of my request. So, why…?’
She eventually recalled that hidden stats were areas that had been beyond the player’s control, but they could still increase or decrease arbitrarily depending on the course of play just as the system had mentioned before.
With the sudden increase in her stats, Julia instantly felt uneasy while not knowing of the true reason. It was clear that devilism had not been an item that could be affected by what she consumed. However, she had no way of knowing why it had increased so dramatically and what kind of factors it would then affect in the future.
Even as Bael held her tightly while laying her down on the bed and gently stroking her hair, Julia still couldn’t seem to relax herself.
She just smiled somewhat helplessly at the perplexed Bael as her thoughts were still being filled with numerous questions.
