“Command system.”
[▷SYSTEM
5th Episode. ‘The Emissaries from Earth’ is in progress.]
[▷SYSTEM
– Mission: To save all the delegation and send them back to the ground. Time limit is 7 days.
– Reward: Obtain the special weapon; ‘Meteor Shower’.
– Failure Penalty: Achieve the confinement ending; ‘Doll in a cage’.]
It was fortunate enough that she was still able to utilize the command even though her hands were all bound. Julia then carefully scanned the contents of the system window.
‘The most important thing is that no one should be dead. If I were to fail this episode’s mission, it ultimately means that I will end up being confined.’
Julia looked up at the chains that had bound her wrists. She felt horrified because it seemed like a foreboding event in case she were to fail the mission, she would eventually end up to be like this for the rest of her life. As she shuddered at the mere thought of it, she let out another deep sigh and executed the skill icon.
A golden skill tree as well as a number of four leaves appeared before her eyes. It was the one that she had left unused previously and the three points which she received as an episode reward to boot.
[▷ Resistance Steal Lv.2
Steals 60% of the Magic Resistance from a specific target that is designated by the player for a certain period of time. Consumes 60% of one’s remaining HP. SP 60]
[▷Physical Shield Lv.1
Protects the player’s body from physical shock for 3 times. Consumes 60% of one’s remaining HP. SP 60]
After she had raised each skill with one level at a time, Julia returned to the progress window in order to check the reward for this current episode. The type of special weapon that would be provided had been different depending on the player’s preferences, but the meteor shower was actually new to her too.
‘I can’t really tell just by looking at the name.’
Since she didn’t mind anything at all, she thought that it would be nice if it was a weapon that had been related to physical force. The only physical skill that she could currently use was her own shield. Even after she had used it, a large portion of HP was undoubtedly lost in progress.
It was the same even right now. The edges of her vision would sometimes turn red. This would appear once her physical strength had turned less than 10%. It seemed that just waking up after fainting briefly was definitely not enough.
“I have to get out of this chain first, but I don’t really think that the Demon King will… come back for now.”
Her body had been throbbing with pain, but her mind was mostly fine.
When she had just woken up from the dream of being drowned at the bottom of the lake, she was overcome by the emotions that Bael had been feeling instead. It instantly threw her off course. A feeling of loneliness and depression began to dominate her mind. In such a state, her physical strength gradually fell to rock bottom and she had even encountered someone who would stimulate her past trauma.
She was concerned about the conversation that occurred just then. Nevertheless, when Julia was reminded of Ruslan’s slender eyes, she immediately shook her head at the throbbing headache.
“Let’s not think about it yet. We have more important things to do right now.”
Beyond her vague memory, the image of herself as she declared that she would return to Vestra came to mind. She thought that if there was a conflict between the demons as well as the humans and someone just died, it must have been because of this.
She had to stop it. She would have to live just like this for the rest of her life if she wasn’t able to stop it.
Clank, clank, clank!
Julia, who could barely raise her upper body, hauled on the chains as much as she could. Her skin eventually got caught between the thick joints and got torn, but she still struggled regardless.
“Hah, hah…”
She repeated that several times, but nothing ever changed. As she felt exhausted, Julia fell helplessly to the side. Her breath grew sparse as if she had just finished a full sprint.
The bedroom right here was almost like a one floor private house—even within the huge Demon’s Castle. To prove it, no one ever came in despite such a loud piercing metal sound. She then came to a conclusion that shouting would only drain her strength instead.
“Command system.”
She searched every nook and cranny of the system window while wanting to grab anything that was actually helpful. She had looked into an icon several times, but still came out in vain. Finally, she found an object that was lying quietly at the bottom of the item window.
[▷ Lerazier’s opportunity to pay back
The devil’s promise is completely absolute. Usage: 1]
‘So, I owe you in my own way. And I wish I’ll have a chance to pay it back.’
The day after her first deed with Bael, Lerazier had said that as an expression of his thanks for calming Bael’s rampage, which was so huge that the Demon’s Castle got overturned. And after he had left the bedroom, something like this seemed to have been created within the item window.
The truth was, she had already forgotten about it all this time. If she hadn’t been imprisoned like this, she would have probably overlooked it for the rest of her life.
Julia proceeded to execute the ‘Lerazier’s opportunity to pay back’ icon. Then, a new status window popped up at once.
[▷ Enter the command.]
Would this really work? Julia found it rather dubious, but the only thing that she could believe in right now was this strange item.
“Please unchain me, Lord Lerazier.”
As she hesitantly said so, the system window eventually closed on its own. Julia held her breath and blinked ever so quietly. After a long wait, the chains were still tightly bound against her wrists.
‘Did Lord Lerazier reject that request of mine?’
When Julia’s shoulders began to droop down weakly, there was a sudden thud right above her head.
“Wh, wh! Where am I?!”
Then, she could hear an astonished cry. After struggling in shock for a while, Lerazier soon noticed a small figure that was looking up at him. In the end, he softly coughed in embarrassment.
“Kuhm.”
“…”
“But why are you buck naked?”
Only then did she finally realize that she had been all naked and was only covered with Bael’s own robe. On the other hand, he continued to keep his mouth shut before looking away awkwardly.
