Chapter 130

8 min read

“This is about finding someone because you want to marry, not someone you get married to because you like them too much.” Si-Jin rebuked.

These words also were what Na-Yool once said to someone other than him.

“To be honest, I didn’t have any big, unrealistic expectations about marriage from the beginning. Because people change and you can’t know about later… Shouldn’t marriage be done when my conditions and situation at that time are okay, to at least be able to understand the other person with peace of mind? If I got married for the reason that I love them, but end up losing their love, what should I do with that desolating emptiness?”

The hand that was clutching her chest suddenly went up under her chin and lifted Na-Yool’s face to face him. Si-Jin looked into her eyes carefully. She is half asleep with hazy eyes, but he can still see the brightness behind the hard shell.

And inside, the coward woman, crouching in fear.

“You, you are scared.”

“…….What?”

“Scared of falling in love…”

“……”

“You are scared of loving someone.”

Si-Jin repeated himself, as though deploring to not have realize earlier such an obvious fact.

“You hate obsessing over someone, and hate the feeling of being led by the nose by others.”

As he said so, it all sounded familiar to Si-Jin. And for this reason, terrible to him.

“That’s why you are scared of me.”

“……Sorry?”

Na-Yool looked up at him with puzzled eyes. He nodded his head in understanding, not minding her disapproving glance. His statement was said with such confidence that Na-Yool felt awfully awkward.

Epilogue

Si-Jin had changed significantly since that day. That is, since the day he extorted the truth from Na-Yool about her feelings.

Before too, despite his attitude had changed like Earth and Heaven tumbling over each other, he at least paid mind to the time and place. Although he sometimes somewhat crossed the line, Si-Jin always steered clear of crossing it completely. It was said that nothing good would come out from an office relationship getting found out – and even more so for the woman, but their case was somewhat different.

Was Kwon Si-Jin just an employee? In a slightly different sense than Na-Yool, he also was in a sensitive position. Though it never started out innocently, who would view the relationship between the CEO and an employee as an innocent one? It would take only one misunderstanding in other people’s eyes for Na-Yool’s excessive and heavy workload to turn into a special beneficial treatment provided by him.

Na-Yool was so frustrated just thinking about it that she sighed heavily. If that were all, she would have nothing to say. After all, if it seems like Na-Yool was unfairly benefiting from him, it will turn out to be the other way around and look like the CEO was showing personal and unfair favoritism to the person he sleeps with… Told by the mouth of gossipers, it was surprisingly easy for a not-so-grand romantic relationship to degenerate into a sex affair in which mutual compensation was given. Even if that was difficult due to the company atmosphere, if their relationship broke up…

…Anyway, it would be embarrassing in many ways.

“What’s up with the sore face?”

“…Mr. Kwon Si-Jin, are you thinking straight or not?”

Do you think I am being so careful about this or that just for my own sake? Do you think I don’t want to do perverted things too? Na-Yool muttered, not realizing that while she was internally scolding him, she had unknowingly made a naughty confession.

Anyway, to Na-yool’s surprise, she suddenly realized that she was considering Si-Jin’s difficult situation a little more seriously than her own predicament. It seems I really like this guy, from the beginning he was different from others…

Her heartbeat was so fast that she could not keep track of it. Consequently, she felt more anxious. Her heart was racing with no sign of slowing down, but because it was so good, all sorts of worries flooded her mind.

However this man, who had so much to lose…

“You really have no idea how I feel.” She sighed.

“I do. You like me.”

Si-Jin cheekily answered and pressed his lips against hers. As if that was not enough, the hand that went up to her chest was even more shameless. The corner of the kitchen space where they were now was divided by a long wall from the lounge area with the entrance to the break room, making it a perfect square so that even if someone suddenly entered, they would not be able to see their appearance.

…In theory. But what good is a square when you have an open wall without a door?

As her soft breast was grabbed over her blouse, Na-Yool swat his hand off. Si-Jin mumbled in a nonchalant tone and obediently took his hand away. Meanwhile the other one, holding Na-Yool’s lower back, slid down to her bottom.

“Don’t hit me. I’m about to get hard.”

“…Who gets hard with a slap on the hand…”

“That’s because you are too cute.”

Even the AI voice from his phone saying that line would sound warmer! Si-Jin spoke with a dignified expression and tone, but it really lacked sincerity. Uh, trying to sloppily coax me with pleasant nothing, is that it?

Na-Yool marveled at the fact that with such a righteous and detached personality, Si-Jin would even think of saying something he did not mean. But was it the only strange thing right now?

“Don’t blame me for your lewd mindset!”

Even though Na-Yool had completely adapted to him, she still found him a mystery.

“But it’s true.” Si-Jin answered as feeling wronged.

Just like last time when he had unbuckled his belt to prove his statement, his hand on Na-Yool’s buttocks pulled her towards him with force. Unlike their upper bodies, which were spaced apart, their lower bodies were joined together without the slightest gap.

Right as Na-Yool’s ears blushed at the overly blatant shape, Si-Jin caressed her soft earlobe and gruffed, “You are so cute when you scold me.”

How was that tone any different from “I want to fire you every time you dare to criticize me without knowing your place”? However Na-Yool had mastered understanding him, and was able to find the true meaning in that blunt and somewhat chilling tone of voice.

She squinted her eyes.

“…If someone scolds you, should you not reflect on yourself?”

“You’re too cute. It did not hurt anyway, why should I sweat it—”

“—Do you think I used my full strength? I obviously went easy on you… Should I really hit you hard? Enough to make you cry?”

“Aah… Didn’t I say your scolding turns me on?”

Si-Jin reprimanded her with a languid sigh, and buried his lips between the two undone buttons of her blouse collar. No doubt that the scene she just spoke of and further imaginary ones were unfolding in the pervert’s mind. Speechless, Na-Yool stared at the cupboard as she ironized.

“Mr. Kwon Si-Jin, if I hit you while having sex later, I’m afraid the thrill might kill you.”

“Then you should stop before I rush to really do it here.”

“Are you crazy? It’s working hours, the door is not even locked—”

“—We can lock it.”

As though it was all it takes, Si-Jin once again pressed his lips on her collarbone while glancing up to look at her.

“Wouldn’t that do?”

Na-Yool grabbed both of his cheeks and lifted his head buried in her bosom to make eye contact. He looked unusually cute, with his smooth cheeks squeezed between her hands. But the pervert had to quickly come back to his senses and be reminded of his social status, position, and responsibility.

Na-Yool gave him a stern look. She thought confessing her feelings would give him stability, but far from it, he instead ended up acting like a train running ahead at breakneck speed…

“No?”

So childish, really, Na-Yool thought, hearing his flat tone turn into one of innocent enthusiasm.

Si-Jin’s twinkling eyes, fit rather for a young boy, bewitchingly stared at her. For someone like him who rarely showed signs of sincerity, this action was close to expressing his inner eagerness. Na-Yool almost unconsciously agreed with a nod.

Of course, caught between the moral principle that they should not, and the instinct that nothing could stop Si-Jin anyway.

“…Is there even a need to ask?”

Fortunately, reason prevailed. It is 3 pm, a lively time when the world is too bright and everyone is working too hard to lose their mind.

Si-Jin shrugged his shoulders, expecting such an answer. He tilted his head down again. Their lips lightly collided, and the next second he sucked on Na-Yool’s lower lip, biting it gently without causing any pain.
