Chapter 247

The door swung left and right, and Marius entered. Vlad’s gaze was fixed on the slender boy standing next to him. The youngest brother-in-law, whom he had only heard of, had no resemblance to Lily at all. He looks like Crocus Isles without the muscles. All of this was quite difficult, so it was pathetic to see him drop his body with his eyes dropped to the floor.

“Anton!” The younger brother he met after a few months seemed to be very welcoming. When Dandelion smiled brightly and raised his hand,

Antonio was terrified again. “Brother, b-be quiet….” When he put his index finger to his mouth, Dandelion smirked.

Ingrid fixed her gaze on Dandelion and said in a voice mixed with laughter, “Marius. You and the duke must have exchanged warm greetings, so I will introduce myself to this person whom I have never met.”

In terms of age, Marius was her older brother.

“The cute child sitting next to the duke is a boy named Dandelion Isles. Come take a look, he looks so pretty, resembling the duchess. But unlike his sister, he’s very cute… Oh.”

Seeing Marius’s expression, Ingrid swallowed her words.

As Marius had come to deal with a serious matter, he thought that he had no interest left to give to the commoners. In spite of the judgment he had made on his own, his eyes widened and pierced Dandelion. His astonished expression was like a miner who had found an enormous gem.

Ingrid smirked. “Oh, Marius. You’re not going to punish this commoner who doesn’t dare to be polite and looks at you with a smile, right? Huh? Calm down. Hehe.”

“Are you a fool?”

Dandelion shrugged as if terrified of him.

In response to the reaction, Marius came to his senses. “No, I did not set out on a journey from a distant land to waste time on this.”

Dandelion rolled his big eyes. “Are you really not scolding me? I’m very afraid of that. You’re mad…”

“It’s fine. Marius is always like that. He is a hypocrite who haunts people as he acts with all that etiquette. Fufu. I especially like your pretty face. I’m obsessed with you too but when I see your sister, for sure… Damn it!”

Bang!

Vlad slammed his fist on the table hard. The area where his fist touched only cracked as he had controlled his strength so that it would not be broken.

Ingrid and Dandelion grabbed their chests in surprise.

Marius frowned. “What are you doing?!”

“There were mosquitoes. I was rude. Your Highness.”

“Act in moderation, Duke!” nIngrid crossed her arms and raised her voice.

Vlad’s indifferent gaze finally reached Ingrid.

“This is my first time seeing you so jealous. It’s already so much fun, but why did you leave the duchess behind? Please explain. Properly!” Vlad crossed his arms and leaned against the back of his chair. “Don’t question me.” He did not tremble, not a single eyebrow twitch, not a breath. He was an unbelievable liar no matter what he did.

He was so proud that even Ingrid, who had been with him until just a few hours, shut her mouth. It wasn’t long before she regained her sanity, and her grew stronger.

“If you dare to be rude to me that way, I can end you.” Ingrid tapped the table with the tips of her four fingers.

“Can I tell you a funny story? You took the Isles in the form of giving the duchess the right to manage. By the way…” She stilled her hand. When she erased her smile, the cat-like features were even venomous. Her jet-black hair and her pale skin made her look even more intimidating. She looked up at Vlad, dark flames in her eyes.

Dandelion flinched, feeling quite intimidated indeed.

Vlad, who had quietly received her gaze, opened his mouth softly, “My wife is naturally weak. Even when she was alone with you, she was in a state of weakness. She will be so sick that she will not be able to take a single step out of her bedroom until the two of you are gone.”

It seemed as if sparks were going off in the place where the two’s eyes met.

Dandelion, who had wiggled his hands neatly placed on his lap, swung his head out. “I, but…  .”

Their gazes turned at the same time.

He looked at Vlad and raised his eyebrows. “Is my sister very sick?”

“…”

Marius was the first to make a deflated sound.

“My sister has been down for almost a full month and hasn’t gotten up for a while. I don’t want her to get sick again…  I have weak a sister like my mom and Antonio.”

Vlad stared at Dandelion for a moment with his characteristic expressionless face. His countenance as he turned his head toward Ingrid was somewhat triumphant. “As you just heard, my wife is often sick. Your Highness.”
