At the hotel in Vegas:
After the call with Jenna, Lillian stayed back in the living room . She decided to work in here without any disturbance or cautiousness . She brought her laptop and all of her work materials to the living room . The living room was huge with a lot of fancy decorations . However, the working table was near the window . Lillian didn't feel like sitting through the night near the window . So, she moved the table near the couch . It was cozy and comfortable . She had few baby pillows for support and just in case for a small nap . Once all the setup was completed, she sat down for the work . As said, she completed 90% of the writing . Only a few chapters and the error-checking is left out . She opened her file and began writing . Just then, she received a text .
It was from Jenna .
"I'm really sorry . Because of my mistake of losing your personal number, you had to go through this trouble, Ms . Grey . I never thought that Mr . Ricardo would get this angry . I apologize again . I am going to stay awake reading your books . They fail to make me sleep, I guess . If you are facing any issues with the work, let me know . After all, I'm your editor, Ms . Grey . Remember it . "
"Ooh and also, don't drink any alcohol . I know your date was spoiled by ME . But don't vent it out with alcohol . Have some coffee . That' it . Work hard, Ms . Grey . Byeee"
Two messages one after the other from Jenna .
Lillian smiled after reading them and replied instantly .
"Go to sleep, kid . "
She left the phone nearby and started to work on her book .
Lillian, despite the rumors about her personal life or her mannerism, she is still one of the best selling authors . We could also say that some of her haters are just jealous of her accomplishment . However, the only one who can handle her would be Mr . Shane Ricardo . Simply because both of them were friends from college and shared an interest in books and novels . Their bond is thick and their friendship is unbreakable . If there's one person that Lillian couldn't ignore in this industry, it's Shane Ricardo .
Lillian worked all night finishing her final draft and checking the copy before sending it to Jenna . She would often walk around for some fresh air . That way, she could resist the temptation to take a nap .
At early morning - Shane's residence
Shane was sleeping peacefully when his mobile rang . The ringtone of "Old Telephone" gave him the shock . He woke up suddenly with his eyes still half closed . The mobile was on the nightstand . He picked it up and saw, it was from Jenna .
"What's up Jenna?" he said in a low tone, still half-sleeping .
"Mr . Ricardo . I apologize for calling you so early in the morning . I just wanted to update you that Ms . Grey has sent me the final draft . I got it in the mail, just now . I will start my work and let you know . "
Although Shane was sleeping, he heard the message .
"Alright . Thanks, Jenna for the update . You can stay home today . I know you would have stayed up all night alone for that idiot . So, take rest today . I will speak to Lillian later . "
"Wow . Really? Thanks, Mr . Ricardo . See you then . "
Jenna cut the call . Shane was now almost awake . When he was about the place the mobile back on the nightstand, he received a notification . A message from Lillian . . . . and Giselle!!!
He opened them up and read one by one .
Lillian:
"I finished my job . Sent Jenna the final draft . My date's gonna start soon . So, don't you dare disturb me or I'll kill you . Give Jenna a day off . She didn't listen to me and stayed up all night . Any important stuff, text me . Don't call . Thanks and Wake up, dumbass . Good morning and have a great day . Love you . "
Shane went back and read Giselle's message .
Giselle:
"Mr . Ricardo . I've thought about it and I will accept your offer . When can I join officially? And thank you for your support . I will make sure to live up to it . "
Giselle sent her message at 2:30 AM in the morning and Lillian had sent hers at 5:00 AM in the morning . Shane replied to both of them . He rolled out the bed and stretched his body . He couldn't stop smiling though . He went to the kitchen and made himself a cup of tea to start the day .
